Alcohol Free Cocktail to Shake Things Up at Tales of the Cocktail® 2011

The Fre® Thyme, created by Liquid Muse Virgin Mixology® and Fre® Alcohol Removed Wines will be featured throughout Tales of the Cocktail®

NEW ORLEANS, LA—April 25, 2011 – For those cocktail lovers looking for a drink with a little less punch at Tales of the Cocktail® 2011, The Liquid Muse Virgin Mixology® and Fre® Alcohol Removed Wines have partnered to create Fre® Thyme, the festival’s official non-alcoholic cocktail. This refreshing drink combines Fre® Alcohol Removed Brut Sparkling Wine with fresh thyme and blood orange juice to create a sophisticated twist on the brunch-style mimosa. In addition to being featured at many of the week’s events, Tales of the Cocktail® is asking local bars to carry this alcohol-free option on their menu as well.

“Some people are surprised when they hear me say this, but you don’t need to love alcohol to love a great cocktail. The Fre® Thyme proves that,” said Ann Tuennerman, founder of Tales of the Cocktail®. “Even the biggest boozehounds will love this fresh and alcohol-free cocktail.”

Natalie Bovis, better known as the Liquid Muse, was inspired to create the Fre® Thyme by her latest cocktail book, which focuses on balancing a healthier lifestyle with festive entertaining by using homegrown cocktail ingredients. This will be the fourth consecutive year that the Liquid Muse has created a signature non-alcoholic cocktail for Tales of the Cocktail®. Fre® Thyme

2 ounces blood orange juice

¾ ounce The Liquid Muse Fresh Thyme Syrup

3 ounces Fre® Alcohol Removed Brut Sparkling Wine

The Liquid Muse Thyme Syrup

Ingredients:

2 cups sugar

1 cup water

About 25 leaves plucked from the stem of an organic thyme plant

Instructions:

Bring the above to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low. Simmer 3-5 minutes.  Let cool. Double strain into a glass bottle.  Refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
