TALES OF THE COCKTAIL® TO EMBARK ON A TEXAS TOUR

Tales of the Cocktail® and the Tipsy Texan will be touring Texas
May 9-12 to meet members of the Texas bartending community.
NEW ORLEANS, LA—April 21, 2011 – This Spring, Tales of the Cocktail® is packing up its bar tools for a road trip to meet members of the Texas bartending community. The Tipsy Texan will join the Tales of the Cocktail® team for a Texas Swing sponsored by the Sazerac Company as they hit Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Plano during the week of May 8th for a series of special happy hour events. Guests will be treated to delicious Buffalo Trace Bourbon Whiskey and Eagle Rare Single Barrel Bourbon cocktails, while Ann Tuennerman shares some of the industry shaking events that are in store this summer at Tales of the Cocktail® 2011.

About Tipsy Texan
David Alan is a professional bartender and restaurant specialist who has spent over 15 years in the food & beverage industry. He publishes the Web site tipsytexan.com, and writes regular columns on spirits and mixology for Edible Austin and L Style/G Style. He has judged, organized, and competed in numerous cocktail competitions, including the Bacardi Legacy Showcase and the national final of the 2011 Cocktail World Cup. Alan is a charter officer and current chapter president of the Austin chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild. He is half of Tipsy Texan with partner Joe Eifler. The Tipsy Texans have served coffee and cocktails at venues as diverse as the Governor’s Mansion and University of Texas tailgate parties, from Big D to Big Bend. With bartending colleague Lara Nixon, Alan established Tipsy Tech: The History and Practice of Cocktail Mixology, winner of an Austin Chronicle Best of Austin award. His most recent project is the restoration and reopening of the historic Esquire Tavern in San Antonio.
