When someone mentions a reception and beluga, I usually think of caviar canapes, but the CAPB welcomed TOTC to the Vancouver Aquarium to have drinks overseen by the charming Beluga Whales, who swam quietly in their tanks as the mixing began.
Three great cocktails awaited the guests:
Facing East from Danielle Tatarin (Keefer) and Bard Stanton (Hawksworth)
The Sakura from Wendy McGuinness and Justin Tisdall (Chambar)
Trans-Canada from David Wolowidnyk (West) and Trevor Kallies (Donnelly Group)
Ms McGuinness welcomed one and all with a rousing speech about being ‘blown away’ by TOTC when she came down to New Orleans in 2008 (and who wouldn’t be?), and reports that the CAPB is coming along in great strides.
The winners of the local Chambord competition were then announced, but this reporter did not get their names. Congratulations, though, Canadians!
