Cointreau supports the next generation of mixologists through the Cocktail Apprentice Program

NEW ORLEANS, LA—January 18, 2011 – Tales of the Cocktail® and Cointreau® Liqueur are proud to announce that they are now taking applications for the 2011 Cocktail Apprentice Program (CAP). Now in it’s fourth year, the Cocktail Apprentice Program brings the world’s rising stars in mixology to New Orleans for Tales of the Cocktail. During the international cocktail festival, being held July 20-24, 2011, the apprentices have the opportunity to hone their craft alongside some of the biggest names in the cocktail industry. Applications are being accepted now through February 21 at TalesoftheCocktail.com.

“We started Tales of the Cocktail to support and cultivate the international cocktail industry,” said Ann Tuennerman, founder of Tales of the Cocktail. “The Apprentice Program may be one of our most important initiatives to ensure that one-of-a-kind cocktails will be served for years to come.”

The Tales of the Cocktail Apprentice Program was developed in 2008 to give talented bartenders the opportunity to apprentice with some of the world’s most influential mixologists, and further develop their bartending skills. Working directly with presenters during the highly sought after seminars, the program gives participants an opportunity to work on large scale events, providing experience they may not normally encounter in their day to day activity. In addition to their time spent learning at Tales of the Cocktail, this year’s apprentices will be eligible for our annual Cocktail Apprentice scholarship program that will be announced in the coming months.

“It was truly an honor and a pleasure to work with all the apprentices and the Tales team,” said Navarro Carr, Atlanta-based mixologist and 2010 Cocktail Apprentice. “I was inspired to be in the company of such a humble, hard working, talented, selfless and passionate group of individuals.”
