10:40 Beer has been used as an ingredient in drinks since, well, the creation of beer.
10:41 Most of that beer was awful.
10:42 Biere Picon? The Northern French drink a lager with a shot of Amer Picon in it.
10:43 Biere Flambe: Flaming cognac in a Chimay glass, and slowly adding Chimay.
10:46 Note to self: don’t order a Black and Tan in Dublin. Beaumont didn’t mention this, but I’m going to go ahead and guess that the same goes for an Irish Car Bomb.

10:53 Don’t forget that hops are bitter, and consider pairing that bitterness with a sweeter liquor such as rum. Be conscious of the fruitiness found in ales, versus the more bland flavors found in lager.
10:56 Beaumont mocks people for mixing a white beer with orange juice, and then happily enjoys it himself. What a jerk!
10:59 The first way to think about mixing with beer is to blend two beers. The second method uses the addition of wine and spirits. Medieval folk mixed red wine with bitter. That’s a little much to think about at 11 in the morning.
11:03 We’re having stout (I apparently came all this way to drink Rogue beer, which is made in Oregon) mixed with a, LBV port and Buffalo Trace bourbon. And you know what? It’s freakin’ delicious.

11:26 Oops. I totally forgot I was liveblogging and just sat here eating Beer Chips, drinking beer, and listening to Stephen. Every time I hear him say “stout” I start thinking about Degrassi Junior High. I liked Spike a lot before she got pregnant, I felt like the whole show kind of went downhill after that.
11:29 Oh my God, remember Kaitlin? I had a total crush on her when I was in high school. I didn’t care for the way Joey treated her.
11:30 One thing I like about Beaumont is that he’s not above mixing beer, reducing beer, and generally screwing around with beer. This guy LOVES beer.
11:32 There are some strange-looking glasses that contain an ominous fluid floating around. He won’t let us drink yet.
11:33 Wheels! He was one of my favorite kids from Degrassi. I wonder if that show is out on DVD?
11:34 Okay, now there’s some Duvel in a bottle. I think we’re going to pour the beer into the fluid.
