I think I only tried the Carousel Bar at the Monteleone, Coop's place, and the Swizzle Stick Bar at Cafe Adelaide. Swizzle Stick was the best of those but still nothing special. I agree the one at Arnaud's French 75 Bar looked good.

Most bars shook their Sazeracs (Arnaud's, Swizzle Stick and Coop's Place), and some (Coop's Place) served it on the rocks. All used pre-cut lemon 'twists' that included the full pith and had little flavor. Swizzle Stick squeezed a lemon wedge into the sink and garnished with that squeezed lemon wedge - weird. French 75 seemed to prepare it fairly classically, but still used a pre-cut lemon 'twist'.

Overall the New Orleans bars need to prepare the city's official cocktail a little better.

Had terrific Sazerac at the Marigny Brasserie down on Frenchman's - good food, too.

I am missing this crowd, couldn't make it down but am there in spirit!
